The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated September 14, 1928, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follow: N.Z. Wethers and Maidens.—Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under 78d, 571 b to 641 b 78d, 651 b to 721 b 7&d ; other brands, 561 b and under 72d, 651 b to 721 b 7d. N.Z. Ewes.—64lb and under 6d. N.Z. Lambs.—Canterbury quality,. 361 b and under lOid, 371 b to 421 b lOid, 431 b to 501 b 9|d, seconds 92d ; selected brands, 361 b and under lOgd, 371 b to 421 b lOid ; other brands : first quality, 361 b and under lOid, 371 b to 421 b lOd ; second quality, 301 b to 321 b average 92d. N.Z. Beef.—Ox fores 3Sd, ox hinds s ld, cow fores 35d, cow hinds sid. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores 41d, ox hinds 713. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 b to 801 b Sd, 811 b to 991 b 7d, 1001 b to 1201 b 7d ; baconers, 1211 b to 1801 b 7id. Lamb. Market firm for prime lambs. Prices have declined for second-class lambs. Beef.—Market is easier owing to heavier supplies.
