TENNIS.
PUTARURU CLUB. Annual Meeting. The annual general meeting of the l utaruru Tennis Club was held in the Ludfellows’ Hall on Friday. Mr. A. C. Thompson presided over a fair atlenuance. Report. The annual report showed that the C grade team won the inter-club championship of the Waikato East Tennis Association without the loss of a match. The club’s senior team reached the semi-final in the A grade contests, being defeated by Matamata. The club captain (Mr. A C. Thompson) won the men’s singles of the Waikato East Association's tournament, and also the combined doubles championship with his partner at the same meeting. Mr. Thompson also represented the Waikato As- : sociation in the match against Auckland.
The club’s own championships and handicap singles events were won as follows: Ladies’ (championship), Mrs. Hooper; (handicap), Miss Coupe. Men’s (championship), A. C. Thompson; (handicap), S. Thomas. The committee recorded its thanks to the trustees for a generous donation of sufficient funds to lay down a ne\v grass court. The report was adopted unanimously. New Members. The following new members were elected: Mrs. Carr, Miss Hamilton, Messrs. Schofield, Christie, R. ■ Dunlop, Patterson, Gawith and Carr. of Officers. Officers for the coming season were elected as follows:—President, Mr. S. J. Parker; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. C. Thompson, T. F. Snell and A. H. Dulceson, junr.; management committee, Messrs. F. Peters, J. G. Gaspatich, V. C. Bailey, A. H. Dukeson, junr. and J. S. Reid; hon. secretary, Mr. O. Scholz; club captain, Mr. A. C. Thompson; delegates to Waikato East Association, Messrs. S. J. Parker, F. Peters and J. G. Gasparich; selectors., Messrs. A. C. Thompson, J. S. Reid and A. H. Dukeson; ground commit, tee, Messrs. Peters, Thompson, Gasparich and Bailey; match committee, Messrs. Dulceson, Peters and Reid.
