ON THE SCREEN.

ARAPUNI PICTURE PALACE. That English films are popular with New Zealand audiences was once again proved at Arapuni on Saturday last, when, despite the bitterly cold weather, a record attendance viewed the story of “ London After Midnight,” in which Lon Chaney takes the leading part. Patrons of this theatre can rely on the best of films being screened, whether British, American, German, or any other country, while ample provision is made to counter the severest of weather conditions by means of special heating arrangements and comfortable seats.

COUNTRY CIRCUIT. Crowded houses have been the rule at Tokoroa, testifying to the popularity of Messrs. Randell and Co.’s policy of securing films of a varied nature to meet the tastes of all classes of patrons. Patrons may be assured that every effort will be made to maintain the high standard of excellence which has characterised the work of this firm and at an early date the announcement will be made of special features which have been booked for future dates. PUTARURU. “ Cradle Snatchers ” is a mirthcovered sermon which will bring gale after gale of laughter from every audience that witnesses it. It is the best comedy-drama for many a year and holds records for long showings in big centres. The leading roles will be taken by Louis Fazenda, Sammy Cohen and J. Farrell McDonald.
