There is at present a fashion among the girls of Wanganui to wear sdJit or divided skirts (states the Chronicle). A young woman who was walking in the Avenue on a windy day was much . embarrassed when an elderly gentleman approached her and told her that she had had the misfortune to tear her skirt.
