STOCK SALES.

WAIHOU. There was a good attendance at the Waihou stock sale on Friday. Prices W’ere satisfactory and the yarding was a solid one. There was an extra-heavy entry of fat and store cattle and also a fine yarding of sheep. All the yarding was cleared and competition was keen. There was a satisfactory yarding of pigs, and though the prices and demand for fat pigs were easier, weaners and stores showed a slight improvement. The following was the range of prices:—

Sheep.—Heavy fat ewes 27s to 29s 6d ; light fat lambs 23s 3d to 24s 3d ; store lambs, forward condition 22s to 22s lOd, others 17s 7d to 19s Bd. Cattle.—Heavy fat cows £8 to £lO 2s 6d, medium £6 17s 6d to £7 15s, light £5 15s to £6 12s, plain sorts £4 17s 6d to £5 10s ; fresh stores £3 10s to £4 10s ; boners £1 10s to £2 • best Jersey-cross heifer calves £3 15s to £4, others, smaller, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, late calvers 23s to 34s ; bulls for export £3 15s to £6 2s 6d. Pigs.—Heavy baconers £3 19s to £4 2s, medium £3 11s to £3 16s, lighter £2 18s to £3 5s ; heavy porkers £2 9s to £2 15s, lighter £1 14s to £2 Is ; stores 19s to 24s ; slips 13s 6d to 15s 6d ; weaners 5s 6d to 9s 6d.

MORRINSVILLE. Owing to the wet weather there was a smaller entry of stock at Dalgety and Co.’s sale at Morrinsville on Thursday than usual. There was a large attendance of buyers. A decided rise in pigs was shown, and rates for dairy stock were well maintained. Prices were:— Sheep.—Fat ewes, 23s 9d; ewes running with Romney rams, 235. Beef.—Fat Jersey cows, £4 15s; store Jersey cows, £2 17s 6d to £3 11s. Dairy Cows, £6 10s to £8 10s; dairy heifers, £7 5s to £ll 10s. Pigs.—Stores to 225; slips, 14s to 18s; weaners, 7s to 13s.

MATAMATA. A good yarding of cattle came forward at the sale conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company at Matamata on Wednesday. Fat cows were in good demand and sold equal to late rates. There was also a good yarding in the pig section, where weaners and stores showed an advance, while other prices w r ere up to late rates. Prices were as follow: Cattle.—Heavy fat cows £8 to £lO 2s 6d ; fat heifers £4 15s to £6 17s 6d ; medium fat cows £6 15s to £7 7s 6d, lighter £5 2s 6d to £5 18s ; forward-conditioned cows £4 4s to £4 15s ; stores £2 5s to £3 15s ; bulls up to £6 5s ; Shorthorn weaner heifers up to £2 3s. Pigs.—Heavy baconers £4 Is 6d to £4 Bs, medium £3 14s to £3 18s, lighter £3 to £3 8s ; heavy porkers £2 2s to £2 17s, lighter £1 12s to £1 17s ; slips 14s to 18s ; weaners 8s to 12s.
