The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated April 11, 1928, advising Smithfield delivered prices averaged for week ending that date as follow:—■ N.Z. Wethers and Maidens.—Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561 b and under 7!d, 571 b to 641 b fiid, 651 b to 721 b fid ; other brands, 561 b and under 7d, 571 b to 641 b 63d, 651 b to 721 b 53d. N.Z. Ewes.—6.lb and under, 51d. N.Z. Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 361 b and under lOd, 371 b to 421 b 93d, 431 bto 501 b 83d, seconds 9id ; selected brands, 361 b and under 93d, 371 b to 421 b 91d ; other brands : first quality, 361 b and under 9gd, 371 b to 421 b 93d ; second quality, 301 b to 321 b average 93d. Argentine Lambs.—-First quality, 361 b and under Sid, 371 b to 421 b 73d. N.Z. Beef.—Ox fores 33d, ox hinds sgd, cow fores 31d, cow hinds 4ia. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores 4ld, ox hinds 73d. Argentine Frozen Beef.—Ox fores 4id. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 b to 801 b 7id, 811 b to 991 b 63d, 1001 b to 1201 b 63d ; baconers, 1211 b to 1801 b 7d. Lambs.—Consumption steadily improving, market firm. Mutton Market.—Owing to lesser supplies of Home-killed, market firm. Beef Market.—Better trade owing to higher prices ruling for Argentine chilled beef. N.Z. Porker Pigs.—Trade will be slow until September. N.Z. Baconer Pigs.—Nominal prices, stocks exhausted.
