Objection was taken to the amount of “ unnecessary detail ” included in farm, stock and cultivation statistics compiled by the Government by Cr. G. Gibson at a meeting of the Egmont County Council. Many of the figures were wrong—were just guessed, in fact—and could never be relied on, he said. To him it seemed “ a lot of rot.” The Government would next be asking “ how many cows you have with two tails ” added the speaker in disgust.
