TRIPLETS OF SEVENTY.
COW PROVIDES SUCCOUR. Three Yorkshire sisters who are triplets have celebrated their seventieth birthday. They are: Mrs. Charles Thackery, of Bispham, near Blackpool; Mrs. Henry Watson, of Oiley road, Skipton; and Mrs. William Remenglow, who lives with her daughter-in-law in Raike’s road, Skipton.
They are daughters of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stockdale, and were born at Craeoe, a village in Upper
Wharfendale. Two were born shortly before midnight, and the other shortly after. Mrs. Thackeray was christened Faith, Mrs. Watson Hope and Mrs. Remenglow Charity. The parents received the Queen’s bounty and the local people subscribed to a fund for the purchase of a cow. Mrs. Watson stated that no one thought sne and her sisters would live, and idded “ but we did, and all are still in fairly good health.”
It was recently claimed that New Zealand held the record of the lorigliving of triplets, one of whom is Mrs. E. R. Davies, of Kiwitahi. The Yorkshire sisters are given the palm by Mrs. Davies, who forwarded the above contribution.
