The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated April 5, 1925, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows: New Zealand Wethers and Maidens. Canterbury quality, selected brands, sGlb and under 62d, 571 b to 641 b Old, 651 b to 721 b 5.1 d; other brands, 561 b and under 65d, 571 b to 641 b ssd, 651 b to 721 b 5Ad. New Zealand ewes, 641 b and under 5Jd. New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 361 b and under 9id, 371 b to 421 b Sid, 431 b to 501 b Sid; seconds, BSd; selected brands, 361 b and under 9id, 371 b to 421 b Sid; other brands, first quality, 361 b and under Sid, 371 b to 421 b Sid, second quality, 301 b to 321 b average Bid. Australian Lambs. —Victorian, first quality, 361 b and under Bd. Argentine Lambs.—First quality, ?61b and under Bd, 371 b to 421 b Bd.
New Zealand Beef.—Ox fores 3id, ox hinds 4gd, cow fores 3ld, cow hinds 4d. Argentine Chilled Beef.—Ox fores 3Sd, ox hinds 7d. Argentine Frozen Beef.—Ox fores 4d, ox hinds 58d. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 bto 801 b 7d, 811 b to 991 b 6id, 1001 b to 1201 b 6id; baconers, 1211 b to 1801 b 6?d. Lamb.—Market firmer with better prices. Mutton.—Market easier owing to heavier supplies. Frozen Pork.—There has been a better demand for frozen pork, 801 b to 1201 b, but prices unchanged.
