OKOROIRE.

The Sawmill. Started with the assurance of a certain supply of millable timber, Mr. B. M. Finlay’s mill is now assured of an almost unlimited area of bush to draw upon, totalling several thousands of acres of bush and millions of feet of timber, much of it, Mr. Finlay states, being of the very finest class. The mill is very solidly constructed and equipped, and capable of meeting heavy demands upon its capacity. The council is metalling the road to the mill, for which the owner is paying a substantial amount. The concern should this winter be in a much better position to get the timber out. Orders have been very satisfactory, and some of the customers have large standing orders. It certainly seems that the mill will be running for very many years, to the benefit of the Jistrict and the country at large.
