6000 INTENTIONS.
PAVE THE WAY TO An amusing little interlude occurred at the last meeting of the Putaruru I own Board, during a discussion on the requirements of the building by-laws. After cross-table talk on the thickness necessary for a party wall, Mr. Tomalin remarked: “I don’t altogether hold with all this red tape. I don’t think we should be too particular over small things. I’d be more inclined to take their good intentions.”
A member: We are told good intentions pave the way to hell. (Laughter). Mr. Neal: There is always a difference of opinion. What one man thinks is a small matter the other thinks is a big one. For instance, at the last meeting you thought a fowlhouse was a big matter. (Loud laughter).
Mr. Tomalin, who joined in the uproarious laughter, replied: “ Yes, that’s so. Oh, I agree.”
