EXPORTS FROM OCTOBER. \ - | Quantities in Stock. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board reports the following- shipments of frozen meat from New Zealand from October 1, 1927, to March 15, 1928. A comparison with the total exports for the same period last year is given in parentheses:— To London : Quarters beef 623,389 (8189), carcases mutton 623,389 (676,018), carcases lamb 1,951,022 (1,711,030), carcases pork 30,103 (23,232). To West Coast United Kingdom : Quarters beef 10,564 (5093), carcases mutton 39,635 (42,528), carcases lamb 262,143 (272,180), carcases pork 24,706 (23,995). To Port Said : Quarters beef 3899 (3484). To New York : Quarters beef 7568 ( —), carcases mutton 1005 ( —), carcases lamb 2500 ( —). To Vancouver : Quarters beef 1040 ( —), carcases mutton 2400 ( —), carcases lamb 700 ( —). To Halifax : Quarters beef 1047 ( —), carcases lamb 700 (1753).
The total killings for export at all works during the same period are as follow : Quarters beef, 197,162 (25,325); carcases mutton, wethers 831,311 (860,654), ewes 479,775 (440,457), lambs 3,626,313 (3,250,564); carcases pork, porkers 88,680 (35,233), baconers 26,972 (24,036); freight carcases boneless beef, 128,286 (74,763); freight carcases sundries, 19,259 (28,411).
The stocks on hand in stores in New Zealand on March 15, 1928, are given as follow, with the figures as at March 15, 1927, in parentheses : Quarters beef, 95,168 (19,358); carcases mutton, wethers 388,506 (428,364), ewes 312,671 (307,002), lambs 1,237,120 (1,355,436); carcases pork, porkers 46,217 (7032), baconers 8288 (4302); freight carcases boneless beef, 46,518 (31,941); sundries, 15,901 (13,462).
