LOAN WORKS.

CONTRACT LET. A contract for the first instalment of the Putaruru Town Board’s loan works has been let to Mr. W. S. Goosman, of Waitoa, whose was the lowest tender of nine tenders submitted to the board. The tender is a very favourable one and amounts to £IBB4, and is solely confined to the by-roads of the town, as distinct from the main roads, the work on which will be carried out in conjunction with the Main Highways Board. Work on Mr. Goosman’s contract will be commenced immediately after Easter, a start being made on Glen Scotia road. It is expected that this portion of the contract will be completed well within the contract period of six months.
