The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated March 23, 1928, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows :

Australian Lambs.—Victorian, first qualifv, 361 b and under Bd. Argentine Lambs.—First quality, 361 b and under Sid, 371 b to 421 b Sid. New Zealand Beef.—Ox fores .3ld, ex hinds 4gd, cow fores 3id, cow hinds 4d. Argentine Chilled Beef—Ox fores. 41d, ox l/.j.ds 6gd. Argentine Frozen Pccf.—Ox fores 4d, ox hinds sid. Frozen Pork.—Porkers, 601 bto 801 b 7d, 811 b to 991 b 6ld, 1001 b to 1201 b 6ld; baconers, 1211 b to 180'ib 6Sd. Lamb.—Consumption is still good. Muvtc-n Market:—Heavier arrivals easing prices. Beef.—Small stocks on hand are sufficient to supply demand. Frozen Pork.—Bolb to 1201 b, prices are slightly weaker owing to good supplies and lower prices of Home killed; 1211 b to 1801 b, market firm.

The market for New Zealand lamb is weaker. The demand not improved by change in prices. Ne\v Zealand prime Canterburymutton, 481 b to 561 b, at lid; prime North Island mutton, 481 b io 561 b, 7d; prime Canterbury mutton, 561 b to 1 641 b, 63d; prime North Island mutton, 561 b to 641 b, 6)d; prime Canterbury mutton, 641 b to 721 b, 53d; prime North Island mutton, 641 bto 721 b, old. The market for New Zealand mutton is weak. The demand is limited. Beef.—Argentine chilled, hinds, 6Jd; fores, 4ld. Pork.—English, SOlb to 1001 b, lOd; New Zealand porkers, SOlb to 1001 b, 6ld; 1001 b to 1201 b, 6ld. Butter.—The market is quiet.
