MORRINSVILLE HORSE FAIR. A healthy . demand for heavy horses existed at the fair conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company at Morrinsville on Tuesday. The offering of all classes was good considering that autumn horse sales are not generally as well supported as those held earlier in the season. The attendance of buyers was fair and competition was good on soundquality lines. Heavy farm horses were most sought after and good prices were realised. A keen demand also existed for spring cart sorts, of which there was a good selection. Heavy draughts made from £25 to £3O, and good spring cart sorts £l6 to £22 10s. Aged horses sold from £5 to £lO. There was little demand
for riding hacks, the sale of which was slack. The quality of the majority was far from satisfactory and bidding in many cases failed to reach the reserve. Bidding was brighter on good sturdy sorts, which sold more readily. Prices for the best varied from £7 5s to £ll 10s, while others made between £1 10s and £3 7s 6d. A number of ponies offered on account of Mr. J. H. Gaddes changed hands at good rates, prices varying from £6 15s to £9 15s.
