CHAPTER OF ACCIDENTS.

AT PUTARURU STATION. During the past few days a series of accidents occurred at the Putaruru railway station and resulted in more or less serious injuries to three members of the staff. Two were caused by the tractor, Mr. G. Ellis having three bones broken in his left foot through being run. over, and Mr. T. Jessop fracturing his right arm while cranking the engine. Mr. W. Jamieson, while engaged in lifting heavy goods, had the misfortune to strain, his heart.

It will be some six or seven weeks before any of the three will be able to resume work. Mr. A. K. Day, another member of the staff, has resigned from the service.
