The following is an excerpt from a letter received by a well-known Whangarei poultry-breeder from a lady fancier in the country (states the Northern Advocate) : I shall not recommend anybody to buy 7 eggs from you. Evidently you cannot pick pullets’ eggs from roosters’, as there are half roosters out of the 10 i have, and that is too big a percentage when one pays a good price for what are supposed to oe good eggs.
The first meeting of the Waikato Electoral Council of the Country Political League, which comprises the electoral executive anu one representative of each branch of the league in the Waikato electorate, was held in the Morrinsville Parish Hall on Wednesday. Mr. S. Ferguson (Motumaoho) was elected president, Mr. P. Rushton (Tatuanui) vice-president, and Mr. M. E. Barrowelough (Mangateparu) secretary’. The following executive committee was appointed : Messrs. Ferguson, Barrowelough. A. N. Macky, H. P. Hewitt, H. D Williams (Tauhei), J. F. Mayn ( Pat g tonga), A. Ramsay, P- Rushton, R. H. Feisst (Cambridge). A further meeting of the council is to be held in a fortnight’s time to consider the election of a candidate to contest the Waikato electorate.
