BOWLING TROPHIES.
PRESENTATION CEREMONY. At a general meeting of members of the Putaruru Bowl ing Club in the Town Hall on Friday opportunity was taken by the president (Mr. A. G. Leggatt) to present trophies won by two members in the handicap pairs competition. In handing over the trophies, which consisted of two handsome combination smokers’ companion stands in polished New Zealand wood, Mr. Leggatt congratulated the winners. It was a much-deferred pleasure and all felt that the trophies had been worthily won. After being accorded musical honours the recipients replied. Mr. Snell stated that unlike Mr. Hollard it was the first bowling trophy he had ever won. It would remind him of very pleasant times and cause him £o regard the future with pleasure. Mr. Hollard said he could only endorse Mr. Snell’s words. In humorous vein he said he did not expect musical honours but nevertheless felt pleased with their efforts, and he was particularly pleased to receive it from an officer of the club.
