TIRAU.

The Tirau school’s annual picnic was held in Mrs. Pevreal’s paddock on Wednesday. There was a record attendance. The chairman (Mr. E. W. Jordan), before presenting the prizes, thanked the people of Tirau for their liberal support to all appeals made by the committee during the season. It was mainly owing to the splendid response that the school now had a piano and a concrete tennis court. He also, on behalf of the committee, thanked the school staff for the manner in which they carried out their duties.

Mr. MeCambridge, headmaster, reponded near the conclusion. He particularly thanked Rev. Brabyn, the ladies, and all those that helped to make the day the success that it had been.
