WAIKATO TUTOR-ORGANISER.

Mr. F. B. Stephens Appointed.

Following the unexpected resignation of Mr. W. A. Sheat, 8.A., from the position of Waikato tutororganiser for the W.E.A., the Auckland University Council has appointed Mr. F. B. Stephens, 8.C0m., to this position. Mr. Stephens is 28 years of age and married. Educated at the Otago Boys’ High School, he entered the Customs Department, where he gained valuable administrative and economic experience during nine years of service. Since leaving the department he has been chief commercial instructor in the technical schools of Dunedin and Auckland. He has qualified both as a solicitor and as an accountant, gaining special distinction in connection with the latter. A student at the Otago and Auckland Universities, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1927, having done work of great promise in economics. While in his new position he will be engaged upon a thesis for the Master of Commerce degree, in which his special experience and training will be used to advantage. Mr. Stephens gives promise of being a keen and energetic W.E.A. staff tutor. He will reside in Hamilton, and his special economic qualifications will make his work particularly valuable among the farming and other communities of the Waikato district.
