Righteous wrath has been caused in one wheat-growing district in Canterbury by the action of the Defence Department officers in calling daylight parades in the middle of harvest time. Whom the gods wish to destroy they first, make mad. If these military Johnnies do not display a little better strategy their position will become untenable, and the whole compulsory training system will be engulfed in a debacle.
