Following the request of a deputation of Putaruru ratepayers to the Town Board ithat a water scheme for the town be inquired into, the board’s engineer has inspected a proposed source of supply on Fitzherbert’s property. After a cursory examination the opinion was expressed that the flow of water present was at least sufficient for a population of 1000 persons for 10 years. Arrangements are being made this week to measure the flow, and a detailed report will be submitted to the Town Board at in early date.
