EVENING STYLES.
Pai-is tells us that the very latest evening frocks favour both straight and bouffant lines. Many of the new frocks feature the uneven hemline, and this may be represented by loose panels or lengthening the skirt at sides or back, or by drapery. Taffeta, brocade and georgette are among the most favoured materials. Sleeveless frocks are sometimes varied by transparent arm draperies carried out in net. For evening coats the fabrics most used are velvet, brocade and moire. These coats nearly all feature high collars, which are usually of fur. The latest word from Paris says:—
—that vestees of lame, faggoted crepe de chine and georgette are seen in many smart frocks. —that lingerie shows much lace trimming. —that sets of jewellery often include matching necklace, bracelet and belt or hatband, of flat metal plaques or links ; that pearls and rhinestones are prominent ; and that rhinestone buckles are smart. —that many new umbrellas have two-tone handles.
