FORECAST FOR 1928. Variations Caused by the Moon. Mr. G. H. Blackburne, of Cambridge, has again supplied the Cambridge Independent with a forecast of the weather for the year 1928, as far as it is affected by the phases of the moon, which he believes to have considerable influence thereon. Mr. Blackburne points out that the sun’s influence is greater and more regular and seasonable, and is liable to upset these calculations by the moon, especially when sunspots are more than usually active. . Forecast. As Recorded. January— First half fine. Second half very wet. February— Mostly very wet. Last week fair. March— First part rather wet. Latter part pretty fine. April— First part fair. Second part fine. MayVery fine month. June— Rather finer than usual for June. July— First part wet. Second part fair. August— I Very wet. September— Very wet. October— ‘ First part a little under, 2nd part a little over, the average of rain. November— Very fine month. December— Very fine month.
