“ You are a friend of the plaintiff?” asked counsel of a witness. in the Gisborne Police Court. Witness replied in the affirmative. “ And you discussed the case before you came to court?” “All cases are discussed before they come to court,” replied the witness promptly. “ Thank good ness we've 1 got someone who will acknowledge it at last!” exclaimed Mr. E. C. Lewey, S.M., amidst laughter, remembering the usual denial by witnesses that they had ever before discussed the case in which they were concerned.
