TOKOROA.
Rabbit Board. The usual monthly meeting of the Tokoroa Rabbit Board was attended by Messrs. L. J. G. Hamilton (chairman), D. Carr Rollett, J. Campbell and J. R. O. Lochhead (secretary). An apology for unavoidable absence was received from Mr. J. Morris, Government nominee. The chairman reported that he had been approached by Lichfield settlers with a view to the boundaries of the board being extended to include that area. The matter was briefly discussed hut it was decided to take no action in the meantime. The secretary was instructed to make arrangements with the Government inspector for a demonstration of a method of killing rabbits by means of a powder, the date to be fixed as early as possible. Accounts totalling £26 3s 5d were passed for payment. General. A new store has been opened in the district and is likely to prove a boon to settlers. Some splendid crops of hay, the great bulk of which has already been harvested, have been secured this season by local settlers. Two nice crops of oats are to be seen on the main road, that of Mr. Voice being a particularly fine one.
