PUTARURU CLUB. Competition Games. More interest is being displayed by •members in club competitions since the holidays, though the attendances so far are not equal to those of last year. Through the dry weather the green is showing signs of wear in places, and is assuming a very rough aspect on several greens, but on the whole is quite true. The championship singles, played on the league system, is proving very popular, and some surprising results have occurred. Both last year’s champion (Blomfield) and handicap singles winner (Leg-gatt) have suffered defeat by fairly big margins. Recent games played are as follows: Championship Singles. King 27 v. Murphy 8; Hollard 22 v. Leggatt 10; Griffiths 25 v. King 7; Francis 26 v. Murphy 11; Griffiths 21 v. Blomfield 13; Murphy 24 v. '■ Lindsay 18; Griffiths 33 v. Brown 13. j Handicap Singles. I Brown (12) 34 v. Boulton (11) 27; Murphy (7) 26 v. Lindsay (4) 20. TIRAU CLUB. The Tirau Club has commenced its pairs championship with results to date as follows: —Totman and Watson (s) 20 beat H. Main and W. Main (s) 19; Naysmith and Rose (s) 19 beat Mouldey and McLarin (s) 17; Craig and T. Little (s) 22 beat Litchfield and Stewart (s) 17.
