TIRAU.

Personal. Miss Cannon, of Hastings (Sussex, England), who has been staying with her nephew, Mr. E. W. Jordan, and Mrs. Jordan, of Tirau, for the past five weeks, went to Auckland to-day (Thursday) where she will visit a very old friend, Mrs. Newman Chennels, of Epsom. Miss Cannon, who wall be staying at the Albert Hotel, will re-visit Tirau before returning to England. Mr. E. E. Hurst, postmaster, commenced his annual furlough this week, and Mr. and Mrs. Hurst and family left Tirau to-day for a six weeks’ visit to other parts. Mr. E. H. O. Sarah is acting postmaster in the meantime.
