ARAPUNI.

Last Wednesday night a dance was held in the Arapuni Hall, in aid of the local Church of England. The evening was enjoyed by all, and voted a success, the church benefiting to the extent of about £3O. A guessing competition for a pearl necklace was won by Mr. J. E. Paterson, while a large tin of cigarettes went to Mrs. Dinnie, and a beautiful kewpie to Mr. C. Hilford. During the evening a balloon dance was held. Mr. Jefferson and Miss Moir eventually carrying off the prizes. A novelty stall well stocked with strawberries and cream was w T ell patronised and helped to swell the funds considerably. A delightful supper was served in the buffet, while the orchestra officiated in their usual capital style.
