A rather extraordinary position arose in connection with the Waipa County Council work recently. The council called for tenders for three different pieces of road work. Three tenders were received, all at the same price. It was decided to cast lots to decide who should get the work, as all three were reputable contractors. This was done, and, strange to say, one of the tenderers was successful in securing all three contracts.
