BURGLARY AT TIRAU.

STORE BROKEN INTO. Clothing and Cash Stolen. On Sunday night or early Monday morning a thief or thieves effected an entrance into Rose Bros., Ltd., store at Tirau, and goods estimated at from £2O to £25 were stolen. An entrance was made at the rear of the premises, three heavy hinges, with six screws in each, having been unfastened. The hinges were left hanging and the door removed. The screws were apparently taken away. The burglary was not discovered until Monday morning at about 6.30 a.m., when an employee of Mr. Frank Rose, having occasion to go to the store, found the back door interfered with. A hurried stocktaking disclosed that kit bags, clothes, etc., were the object of the theft. A little loose cash in the till was taken, but the safes were not interfered with in any way.
