TOWN BOARD MATTERS.
TOUR OF INSPECTION. The members of the Putaruru Town Board made a comprehensive tour of inspection of the town area on Monday with the idea of making themselves fully conversant with the boundaries, roads and the more urgent works required to be carried out when funds were available. An eye was also kept open in respect to possible gravel and scenic reserves. As a result of the inspection, at the next board meeting action will be taken to close a portion of Henderson road, which was considered to be dangerous for traffic. It was also decided to ask the Thames Valley Electric Power Board to remove its pole carriage which has been lying in Henderson road for many months. While inspecting the back roads members expressed surprise at dedication of several of these ever having been accepted. The board arrived back at the starting point, after a three-hours’ tour, much more enlightened and impressed with the amount of work there is to do.
