PUTARURU VALUATIONS.

THE REVISED TOTAL. The recently completed revaluation ■of the area comprising the Putaruru town district shows that the approximate totals are as follows: Capital value £152,300, unimproved value £66,900. The present general rate levied by the Matamata County Council is lad in the £, and on the new valuation basis this amount will return approximately £950 in rates. Owing to the fact that the rate demand notices have been withheld pending the completion of the new valuation list, no Government subsidy for prompt payment of rates will be available this year. However, if calculated on the same basis, the income of the new town board next year should be, with subsidy, license fees, and other extras, approximately £I2OO.
