MATAMATA. Tie Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. held their regular stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday, when about 800 cattle were yarded. Beef cattle: Fat cows, £8 15s to £9 10s, medium quality £6 10s to £7 12s 6d, unfinished £5 18s to £6; prime fat bullocks £ll 16s, fresh-conditioned cows, big framed £7 4s, forward sorts £4 6s to £5 18s; stores, £3 8s to £3 16s; culls, 15s to 30s. Some choice yearling Jersey-cross heifers, yarded by Mr. T. Mulholland, brought £5 15s, others £5 6s; yearling* heifers, £4 Is to £4 ss; 2-year Shorthorn heifers, £3 to £3 13s; small Jersey-cross heifers, £2 15s to £2 17s 6d; good yearling steers, £3 5s to £4 4s; choice yearling Holstein heifers, £3 15s. Dairy cattle: Best heifers, £8 10s. (yarded by Mr. J. Blythe, of Waharoa); others £4 to £7; Jersey cows, £7 to £9. Pigs: Weaners, 27s to 335, others 17s to 245; farrowing sows, £4 4s to £5 ss. Sheep: Fat hoggets, 28s 6d; lighter sorts 24 s. MORRINSVILLE. Dalgety and Co. had another large yarding* at Morrinsville on Thursday* when the cattle pens were all fi’.’ed There was a yarge entry of yearling heifers, which were in good demand, and prices went up to £6 15s, this pen of good quality Jerseys being sold on behalf of Mr. M. E. Barrowclough, of Mangateparu, to Mr. L. Ellis, of Morrinsville. One lot was passed in at £7 7s 6d. Several pens brought over £6. There was also a fairly good demand for dairy cattle. A large yarding of weaner pigs was offered. In conjunction with the ordinary sale, about 50 bulls were offered. The prices are:— Beef: Fat cows £5 17s to £7 35,. fresh-conditioned £3 15s to £4 12s 6d, stores £1 19s to £3 10s; heifers £3 to£3 17s 6d. Young stock: Good yearling Jersey heifers £5 10s to £6 15s, other yearling heifers £3 2s 6d to £4 9s, poorer* sorts £1 2s Gd to £2 2s 6d; yearling steers £1 3s. _ Dairy cattle: Heifers *.'p to £10; cows up to £lO 15s. Pigs: Best weaners 21s to 235, others 13s to 20s. Sheep: Ewes 225. Bulls: Top price was for yearling pedigree Jersey on account of Mr. J. Stewart (Tahuna), 17gns, sold to Mr. F. K. Tompkins (Tahuna road) ; grades, up to £9.

HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company’s Frankton sale on Tuesday there was a good yarding of beef, a small entry of fat sheep and store cattle, and a good yarding of fat and store pigs. There was no improvement in the price of prime ox on last week’s market, but cowand heifer beef was a little easier, prices being equal to 36s for prime ox and 31s for prime cow and heifer. Fat sheep were firm, values advancing fully 3s per head for both ewes and wethers on the previous market. Competition was ke.en for both fat and store pigs at prices equal to late sales. The prices are : Prime heavy steers £l4 12s, prime steers £l3 9s* to £l3 15s, light fat steers £9 15s to £lO 17s ; one extra prime heiferon account of Mr. Barrett, Koroma—tua, realised £l3 2s 6‘d ; prime fat cows £lO, medium quality cows £S 12s 6d to £S 19s, plain and unfinished £6 Is to £7 ss, vealers £2 Is to £2' ISs, prime shorn fat wethers 29.% light shorn fat wethers 23s 9d, fat and forward shorn wethers 22s 3d. to 23s Od, fat woolly ewes 24s 3d to--265, store cows £3 11s to £4, good’ yearling Jersey heifers £5 ss, prime heavy baeoners £-1 Ss to £4 12s, heavy baconers £4 2s to £4 6s, light baconers £3 15s to £3 17s 6d, heavy porkers £3 6s to £3 12s 6d, light porkers' £2 18s to £3 2s, slips 34s to 375;, weaners 20s to 30s (330 sold). MART SALE. At the usual Mart sale held at Young’s auction rooms on Friday the following price., were obtained:— Poultry: Black Orpington hens, 2s 7 6d to 3s; seed potatoes, from 7s to 10s cwt; table potatoes, 8s to 12s; cabbage, from 3d to 9d head ; cauliflower, 6d to Is 3d head; carrots, 3s to 4s sugar bag; spring onions, 3d bundle. Furniture and sundries sold at satisfactory rates.
