STOCK SALES.

MORRINSVILLE. Dalgety and Company had another large yarding at the Morrinsville sale on Thursday, dairy cattle being mostly in evidence and comprising the largest yarding of dairy cattle at these yards for some time. There was also a large number of buyers present, and satisfactory prices ruled, yearling heifers selling particularly well.

The prices are:— Beef.—Fat cows £4 10s to £5 15s, stores £1 10s to £3 16s ; potting bulls £3 5s to £5 7s 6d.

Young Stock. Yearling Jerseycross heifers £4 to £5 7s 6d ; yearling Shorthorn-cross heifers £2 10s to £3 5s ; yearling Jersey-Shorthorn-cross heifers £2 6s to £3.

Dairy Cattle.—Jersey heifers £8 to £l2, Shorthorn heifers £5 to £S 5s ; cows £3 15s to £6 10s.

Sheep.—Fat ewes £1 to 225, fat hoggets 19s. Pigs.—Stores 25s to 30s, weaners 15s to 255.

MATAMATA. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company held its regular stock sale on Wednesday, the prices being as follow: Pigs.—Stores, good, £2 4s ; slips, best 30s to 355, others 24s to 28s ; weaners, 19s to 21s. Beef Cattle.—Fat cows £8 12s to £9 10s, medium £6 12s 6d to £8 7s 6d, lighter sorts £3 17s 6d to £5 12s 6d ; fresh-conditioned cows £3 10s to £3 17s 6d ; stores 26s to £2 7s ; Shorthorn steer calves £3 2s 6d to £3 19s ; yearling Jersey heifers £2 10s to £4 9s ; others £2 16s. Dairy Cattle.—Heifers close to profit £9 10s to £l2 ss, others £7 to £9 5s ; cows £4 10s to £5 10s.

HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, September 21, there was a medium entry of cow and heifer beef, a good yarding of fat and store sheep, while both fat and store pigs were penned in large numbers. Beef sold firm at advanced rates.

Medium weight prime heifers £l2 5s to £l3 Is, lighter £8 10s to £10; prime cows £ll 10s to £l2 2s 6d, light to medium £8 5s to £8 10s; young cows, £7 to £7 ss; runners, £1 15s to £2 19s; unfinished cows, £4 11s to £4 12s; stores, £2 10s to £3 ss; culls, £1 to 355.

The whole yarding of sheep was cleared at late rates. Extra prime heavy fat shorn wethers, 275; medium fat wethers in wool, 27s 3d to 28s; prime woolly hoggets, 25s 6d. A line of 900 4-tooth store wethers averaged 265; cull wethers, 14s. Pigs: Fats showed a slight improvement on the values reached the pre-
