RADICAL CHANGES.
PAPIER-MACHE MOTORS. Consumption of Gas. The 1 ‘ Christian Science Monitor/ * in a summary of the researches of automobile laboratories, says that radical changes are imminent. Among the possibilities of the future are: 450 miles on a gallon of petrol, 10,000 miles on a quart of oil, and 100,000 mileS| on a set of tyres. Other things predicted are pa-pier-mache bodies, appliances to limit speed to 50 miles an hour, cheaper gears, and a new kind of spring.
It is pointed out that the average engine gets only 3 per cent, of the energy out of the petrol consumed.
