DAIRY COMPANY PAYMEMTS.
TARANAKI AND HAWKE’S BAY. The annual report of the J. T. Joll J Co-op. Dairy Co. (Taranaki), states that during the year 47,840 crates of cheese were sent forward for shipment to the Home market. Out of this amount 28,495 crates, representing to the end of December make, were sold outright on an f.o.b. basis For but-ter-fat supplied suppliers have l oreiv- | ed payment at the rate of Is 7d per lb. The balance at the credit of ap- | propriation accounts amounted to cheese to pay suppliers a further one
penny per lb, exclusive of interest of 5 per cent on fully paid up shares. With a large quantity of cheese unsold, it was impossible to indicate what the final pay-out would he. Should the realisation on the cheese be higher than the estimate, suppliers would receive an increase in the payout in accordance therewith. At the annual meeting of the Hopelands Dairy Co. (Woodville), it vas stated that the season’s payment was Is 82d per lb, and it was maintained that had it not been for the seaman’s strike the payment would have reached Is 9d.
