Information lias been received bv tbe National Milk Publicity Conned of a " consumption of milk survey ’ recently conducted by tbe United States Department of Agriculture in Philadelphia. Consumers of milk were questioned why they drank it, and nonconsunrers why they did not. For the inquiry four hundred families were selected and divided into eight groups, according to income, race, and, nationality. Of these, groups, the Jews proved to be the largest drinkers of milk, and the Italians and coloured people the smallest, but the coloured group consumed more butter-milk’ than any other group. In the majority of cases, 8 per cent, of the food bill was used, to purchase milk, but families with incomes over the average and Jewish families spent, 10 per cent, on milk.
