The correspondent omits to state what rate of interest he has to pay on the currency of the loan, but if it is at 53 per cent, interest for 36» years he has to pay 73 halfyearly instalments of £3 5s lOd, which amount to £240 5s lOd. For a loan of the repayment of principal, with interest, would amount to £1922 6s Bd.
