The Valuer-General wrote stating that only a limited amount of revision work in connection with valuations could be undertaken in any one year. A selection of districts for revision work ivould be made during the next month or so, when the claims of Matamata county would receive careful consideration. The above letter was received in re- ! ply to a request from the council that the county be revalued as early as possible. The engineer reported that ' revaluation work had actually commenced at Putaruru. The letter was received. NO MAN’S LAND. Messrs. Lewis and Dallimore wrote stating that the plan for the road through Mr. Chapman’s land had been returned by the District Land Registrar, who pointed out that the plan showed a road 100 links wide only. When the title was issued to Mr. Chapman a width of 150 links was dedicated in anticipation of its being legalised afterwards. If the present plan was approved it would leave a strip 50 links wide of no man’s land. This was objected to, and it was stated that if the council wished to narrow the road to 100 links application should be made in the usual way to close the 50 links. In view- of this the plan would have to he amended. —Referred to the engineer. SLAUGHTERHOUSE LICENSES.
