WEDDING BELLS.
M A RS DEN—BETHEL. The wedding of Miss Florence Marsden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Marsden, of Tahuna, and Mr. H. Bethel, also of Tahuna, took place on June 2 at the. Tahuna Methodist Church. The officiating minister was Rev. E. E. Sag'e, of Morrinsville. There was a large attendance at the church, which had been prettily decorated with a floral bell and ferns and evergreens by friends of the bride arid, bridegroom. Mr. H. Watts, cousin of the bride, presided at the organ and played the Bridal March ■as the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. The bridesmaids vnere Miss D. Silcock, cousin, and Miss B. Marsden, sister, of the | bride. Mr. H. Oxen acted as bestj man and Mr. J. Marsden •as groomsman. The dress was of very pretty ivory silk and wool marocain trimmed with georgette and silver, and, the usual veil and oi-arig-e blossoms. A beautiful’ sheaf of arum lilies was carried in place of a bouquet. Miss Silcock wore a very pretty frock of shell pink figured 'silk with trimmings of georgette tb match. Miss B. Marsden wore heliotrope crepe de chine with trimmings of pink and heliotrope georgette. Each bridesmaid wore a bandeau in place of &' ‘hat. The bridesmaids each wore a string of pearls; the gift of the bridegroom, and' carried bouquets of pink stock, violets and. asparagus fern. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Marsden entertained a large number of friends at a reception in the hall, Mrs. ■ Marsden Wearing a dove-grey Silk miarocairi froick, black hat and. fur. The half had been tastefully decorated With greenery ‘arid autumn leaves, and a wedding bell 'with heliotrope and pink I 'streamers was hung over the bride’stabie. The tables "vyere beau-, tifull'y - decorated' with chrysanthemums and’ Argentine pea, a striking teffect being completed with a handsome we'dding cake, the work of the bride’s mother. ’ • After the usual toasts had been honoured the newly-married couple departed on their honeymobn amid shows of confetti from their numerous friends, the bride wearing a grey tweed costume with grey coat trimmed with fur, With black hat. Festivities were continued in the evening, When Mr. and Mrs. Marsden entertained a large number^of young people at a social in the hall, where gpmes and dancing were indulged in till after Slipper. A very pleasant evening closed, with hearty cheers and vote of thanks to the host and host,ess, everyone joining heartily in singing “ For They Are Jolly Good Fellow's!*’
