Mr. A. A. Rigger, senior, of Overdale, Putaruru, has kindly presented a handsome New Zealand ensign, three yards long, to the Putaruru school. Look out for the plain and fancy dress ball on Friday, June 25.* Many an innocent person has passed across “ The Bridge of Sighs ” to •he gloom and solitude of the famous Tombs prison. Charles K. Harris’ story tells how a young spend hr'ft’s “ fun ” sent, an old man .to firs doom. The picture will-be shown in Putaruru on Saturday.*
