FARMERS’ UNION URGES COMPULSION. The dehorning of cattle was the subject of considerable discussion at the annual proAdncial conference of the NeAv Zealand Farmers’ Union at Auckland last week. A remit advocating the compulsory dehorning of cattle, other than herd book cattle, was carried after a fight by those who advocated an amendment to make dehorning before yarding for sale or trucking alone compulsory.
