PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

TIRAU MEETING. A largely - attended meeting of ladies was held in the Tirau Church on Thursday, Rev. W. T. Brabyn presiding. After praise and prayer it was unanimously decided to form a Ladies’ Guild to work in the interests of the church, and the following officials were elected for the year : President, Mrs. M. Couborough; vice-, president, Mrs. J. W. Amoore ; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Spedding, Plans were discussed for future operations and rules were adopted. Afternoon tea was served and the benediction concluded a most enthusiastic meeting. PUTARURU GUILD. At Putaruru on Tuesday an enthusiastic meeting- of ladies was held and it was decided to form a Ladies’ Guild. Officials for the year were elected as follow,.; President, Mrs. Begbie ; Mrs. Gawith ; secretary and treasure® 1 , Mrs. Runciman. * Mrs. A. H. Dukeson’s (junior) offer of a meeting place in her home was accepted with thanks and it was decided that .the guild meet on the first Friday in each month. During- the meeting Rev. Brabyn announced that a Putaruru resident had offered a donation of £SO towards the cost of erecting- a church or hall.
