MATAMATA. __ Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their gular stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. Prices were: Cattle: Fat cows, £4 13s to £5 6s; forward conditioned cows, £3 6s to £4; store cows, £2 17s to £3 ss; cull cows, 20s to 365; good Jersey calves, £2 2s 6d; potting bulls, £3 to £4 7s 6d. Sheep: Lambs, small culls, 8s 3d. Pigs: Good stores, 26s to 30s; slips, 16s to 20s; weaners, 8s to 10s; others 4s to 5s 6d. 'f MORRINSVILLE. Owing to the Easter holidays intervening, the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s stock sale at Morrinsville was held' on Wednesday of last week, and perhaps because of it not being the usual sale day, there was a very poor yarding. The market generally appeared to be quiet, cow beef, especially, being dull. There was a small yarding of dairy cattle and most of those offered were passed in. Only two pens of sheep were offered and neither was sold. Pigs were in fairly large numbers, prices being easier. The prices are:— Beef: Light fat steers £S 4s to £9 S| 16s, forward steers £6 2s 6d; fat heif- * ers £4 to £5 17s 6d; fat cows £4 15s ’ to £6, medium £3 12s 6d to £4 2s 6d,, light and fresh-conditioned £2 10s to £3, stores £1 to £2 ss; potting hulls £2 to £2 10s. Young stock: Yearling heifer calves 17s to 335; yearling steer calves 32s to 375. Pigs: Good baconers up to £3 16s, lighter £3 8s to £3 11s; choppers, up to £3; good porkers, up to £2 15s; lighter £2 2s to £2 7s 6d; good stores, 30s; slips, 23s to 275; weaners, 11s to A 16s 6d. “ HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday there was a fair entry of beef, comprising chiefly good-quality cows and heifers, and valuer reached showed an improvement on those for the previous week. Medium-weight prime steers sold to £lO Bs, lighter £9 11s, small to £8 4s, good-quality prime cows and heifers £7 to £8 2s, lighter prime £6 to £6 19s, well-finished light £4 10s to £5 10s, plain and unfinished £2 10s to £4, medium vealers 35s to £2, freshconditioned cows £2 15s to £3 ss, stores 30s to £2. A small number of fat and store sheep were penned and sold at late V rates. Medium four-tooth fat wethers 25s 4d, woolly lambs 21s, store lambs in wool 14s to 15s, medium four-tooth store wethers 235, fair twotooth wethers 20s to 21s. A medium entry of fat and store pigs was submitted. The quality of the fats was not up to the usual standard and prices were easier. Stores, if anything-, sold at slightlyadvanced r-ates. Heavy baconers £3 19s to £4 Bs, good baconers £3 13s to _ £3 17s, medium £3 6s to £3 10s, light 4 baconers and good porkers £3 to £3 3s, medium poi-kers £2 15s to £2 18s, light to medium £2 5s to £2 12s, good slips and store porkers 27s to 355, small slips 18s to 19s 6d, weaners 5s to 10s 6d.
