r MATAMATA. ’ The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. J held its usual sale at Matamata last week. Fat cows brought £4 10s 1 to £7 10s, fresh-conditioned cows £2 1 16s to £3 19s, store cows £1 to 30s, ! bulls £2 10s to £4 10s. Sheep.—Store lambs 8s to 13s 3d. Pig-s.—Slips 22s to 265, weaners Ss J to 12s. I MORRINSVILLE. There was a fairly large yarding 1 of cattle at Dalgety and Co.’s stock 1 sale at Morrinsville on Thursday, but the bidding, apparently affected by the dry spell, was listless. The prices are: — 'Beef: Fat cows £3 10s to £4 10s; fat heifers £4 12s 6d to £5 2s 6d; ’ store cows £2 to £3 ss; in-calf heifers £3 12s 6d to £5 ss; potting- bulls, £1 ‘ to £3 10s. Young stock: Heifer calves 37s 6d, steer calves 27s 6d. Dairy cattle: Cows £5 2s 6d. Sheep: Store lambs 10s to 13s, Pigs: Weaners 10s to 28s. HAMILTON. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s weekly stock sale at Frankton . last week there was a fair entry of steer and cow' beef, only a limited number of well-finished cattle being penned, and competition was anything but brisk. Prices : Medium-weight fat steers sold to £lO 9s, lighter £8 12s to £9 2s 6d, unfinished £6 10s to £8 ss, prime cows £7 7s 6d to £8 ss, medium well-finished £6 to £6 14s, lighter £5 to £5 16s, young and light cows £4 to £4 16s, plain and ordinary £3 to £3 15s, good vealers £3 3s, small 30s to 355, fresh-conditioned cows £2 to £2 6s, culls 15s to £l, two-year incalf medium-quality Jersey heifers £4, same-age Holstein-Shorthom cross £3 Is. A small yarding of sheep was submitted and prices were easier for all classes, to those, reached at the previous sale. Prime woolly lambs 26s 6d, good 24s 9d, good mixed-sex woolly store lambs 14s 6d, medium 10s, small 7s. An extra-heavy yarding- of pigs came forward (principally fats) and values did not reach tire standard of the previous week, bacon company buyers not being keen and operating at reduced rates. All classes ! of stores were again very dull of sale.
