MATAMATA. The Farmers-’ Auctioneering Company held its regular stock sale at j Matamata on Wednesday, the principal feature being the heavy yarding of sheep. Cattle.—Fat cows £5 10s to £6 10s, light fat cows £4 10s to £5 10s, for-ward-conditioned cows £3 10s to £4 10s, store cows £2 10s, Shorthorn steer calves 25s to 30s, Holstein heifer calves £1 10s, light and choice Jerseys, on behalf of Mr. L. W. Brindle, 22 yarded, from £4 to £4 18s, other Jersey calves £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, potting* bulls up to £5 ss. ,Sheep.—A line of fat ewes was passed in at 18s, the reserve being 235, aged ewes 17s 6d, woolly lambs 10s to 12s, good woolly lambs 16s. Pigs.—Weaners Ss to 12s 6d, stores 39s 3d, slips 30s.

MORRINSVILLE. For this time of the year the yarding at Dalgety and Co.’s stock sale at ; Morrinsville on Thursday was very 1 fair, the prices also being satisfactory. The prices are : Cattle.—Fat cows £3 10s to £6, store cows £1 10s to*- £2 10s ; springing I heifers £2 10s to £3 12s 6d, empty j heifers £1 5s to £2 10s ; Jersey heifer j calves £1 to £1 15s. ) Sheep.—Woolly lambs 16s 6d, shorn j lambs 14s 6d. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering 'Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday there was a good entry of cow and heifer beef, no ox beef being penned. Prime cattle sold up to late rates ; rough and ordinary lacked competition. Prime cows and heifers £8 to £8 7s t 6d, lighter prime £6 Is to £6 15s, [ medium-quality cows £5 to £5 10s,) rough £3 10s to £4 10s, fresh-condi-tioned cows £3 to £3 7s 6d, stores 35s 1 to £2 ss. A small entry of sheep* was offered, store lambs still being j in demand, while ewes, chiefly aged sheep, were hard to quit.
