ELECTROCUTION OF STOCK.
COWS KILLED AT SPKINGDA^. ..On Sunday‘morning a fallen wire caused the death of five cows in paddock belonging to Mr. F. W. Walt* ers, Springdale. The driver of a motor lorry noticed a commotion among a large herd in a paddock adjoining- the road, and on investigation found the five cows dead, most of them considerably burned. His arrival undoubtedly prevented a much greater casualty list, as he kept the excited animals away from the. danger until the power was cut off. The line was a high voltage one, and examination showed that the wire had broken at an insulator and fallen upon the cows gracing beneath.
