WORTH NOTING.

THE SILENCE OF POWER. Very often we witness the spectacle of a strong man and forceful who Is completely controlled by his wife. She may be a jnodest little thing, and unobtrusive, but she manages to run the whole show. It is not bluster and noise and confusion that are signs of power. Power is silent. Most people do not want to be great; they want to seem great. What they want is the applause and conspieuity that come from playing the piano well. But there is no short cut to the right kind of fame. It is built up. upon years of silent hard work. Nobody can hear gravitation yet it is the most tremendous force in the world. So love does not make as much noise as hate. It does not function in quar--1 rels and loud talking. It is quiet and I submissive and humble. Yet it is the greatest force in the world.
