MATAMATA RETAIN STARS. A strong Wailii team, consisting of Hudson, Dare, Landy and McDermott (s), visited Matamata on Saturday in quest of the Goldfields Stars, recently won by Matamata from Morrinsville. The result was an easy win for Matamata—Carter, Mclntyre, Sloane, G. Stewart (s) —by 26—10. The visitors gave up after the 17th head had been played.
